Fantastic puerh tea with awesome aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel. The fragrance is lovely with both high notes: floral character and a distinct but subtle autumn aroma (more subtle autumn character than the shengtai, but just as nice). This tea differentiates itself from the shengtai in several ways, though they have some overlap. The big fragrance difference (at this point, in early Jan 2020) are the bass notes of this tea that aren't super prominent but make it a very full and satisfying tea! Based on past teas from these gardens, the gushu really differentiates itself from the shengtai after a few months to a year, where the "bass" notes become more and more the star. Fantastic example of great autumn tea. Perfectly processed, as usual :] It is also a great companion to the Autumn '19 shengtai cake, as they have overlapping character but are unique in their own ways. Great for comparison to learn more about gushu vs. shengtai, as well as a great example of high quality autumn puerh. And a great value!!
This is an amazing Autumn Jingmai Gushu tea. It has not failed to deliver in its typical fresh Jingmai aromas and flavors, which are floral with a pronounced fruity taste (apricot?) carrying that subtle and complex thick and rich gushu tree taste. Awesome mouthfeel and can only say thank you Yubai, William and little Lucas for this wonderful production. **Note: while Autumn harvested teas may be less pronounced in their liveliness and strength, this tea is actually just right due to the climatic conditions upon harvest: making it a worthy tea to stand its own ground.
