Ancient tea gardens from Mang Guo, Jingmai Mountain
Loose leaf mao cha
This garden grows below our house, it has a higher fertility than the upper gardens and a lot of big trees. It is cultivated by our cousin, Ye Hen, who picks the tea herself.
The soil has some clay in it, which makes it better at retaining nutrients and water and explains the higher yield we can get from this garden.
Ye Hen picked only the biggest trees or the garden for this batch. It has a full-bodied mouthfeel, good Huigan and Chaqi. It lacks on the fragrance side and doesn't feature the typical orchid aroma that is more prevalent in Da Ping Zhang area.
